SOUTHERN ROCK JUNKIES
GHOST RIDERS OF SOUTHERN ROCK SALUTE MUCHACHOS

This German band has issued a double album in 2008 and another one in 2013. If we see the covers, this is Southern Rock. But when we listen to those records, it is more a mix of Country Music ("The Sun will shine again") and of Hard Rock ("Road to Hell"). Sure, we get here influences of ZZ Top ("Butterfly in the Sun"), the Outlaws ("Southern Dreams") or the ABB ("Southwind meets Spring"). But we are far away from the original Southern Rock, in the way of construction of the titles and in the technical ability. It's more a kind of musical Western. And the voice sure will astonish many people (because of the mix?). A live song shows a kind of cohesion in the band ("The Southern Spirit"). But there's really nothing new here. If you really want to get everything's new in the European Southern Rock, it's up to you. But it's your own choice!
